It was designed by Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón and Martín de Santiago. It has a quadrangular plan, with towers on the corners and a central court. At the corners are sculptures of lions and imaginary animals, keeping the coat of arms of the Zúñiga, Acevedo, Ulloa and Fonseca families. In the interior are two landscape paintings by Jusepe de Ribera (1639), and a Jason with the Dragon by Salvator Rosa.
