Catlett elevates their mundane tasks and celebrates their importance to the social fabric of the culture. Many of her works with the Taller [de Gráfica Popular] referenced popular photographic images of the Mexican people, images that would have been immediately recognizable to the primarily illiterate Mexican working class.
