South Bend native George Rickey added the elements of time and motion to his art. His kinetic sculptures are in motion around the world, activated by indoor air currents or powered outdoors by the whim of the wind. In their graceful movements, these hypnotic sculptures reveal the play of natural forces upon works of art that use physics to control the time and limits of their motion. This piece's movements are unusually complex, as both cones rotate (often in different directions) and the entire sculpture "points" like a weathervane.
