Coyote is an important creature in many Indigenous cultures and often appears in stories as a trickster. Rick Bartow has depicted Coyote in many different forms. When asked to discuss Coyote, Bartow said, "He can be kind of smart, and he is still with us today as he was before when he first created himself or thinks that he did. Sometimes he wanted to have everything that everybody had, so some people think that he is sort of our all human foibles, and we can learn both good and bad from Coyote by watching him. Some of it's good. Some of it's bad. I think of it as-he just is."
