The quintessential American Pop artist, Andy Warhol created a mythic persona to complement his art. In the 1960s he photographically transformed magazine reproductions into paintings and prints of stars like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Later he developed key designs from original photographs, that he made with a Polaroid Big Shot, an affordable portrait camera with self-developing film...Pom, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, was photographed for a portrait on canvas.
