Whether depicting her neighbors or friends, still lifes or landscapes, Grace’s brushwork was expressive, her forms simplified and palette marked by high contrast. She was recognized for her achievements in an unsigned exhibition review in 1926, "The first thing that must strike the visitor to the Brook-street Art Gallery, where Mrs. Paul Henry (Grace Henry) is showing some sixty oil-paintings, is the masculine virility of her brushwork and the boldness and variety of her well-defined colour patterns." The author continued by comparing her favorably to Jack B. Yeats and drew comparisons between her still lifes and those of the French exemplar of Modern art, Paul Cézanne. from Snay, The Donald and Marilyn Keough Collection of Irish Art (Notre Dame, 2019)
