House of Tristan L'Hermite, Tours: Detail, main entrance on the street

The exterior has been restored and the iron grilles visible here, removed. Named after a supposed inhabitant, Tristan l'Hermite, a courtier of Louis XI. The doorway inscription, "Prie Dieu pur" points to the construction of the house by Pierre du Puy, the owner in 1495. The house has a court with gallery and a helicoidal turret staircase. Listed as an Historical Monument, reference number PA00098208. The brick house has stepped gables and stone window casements, quoins and decorative carvings.
