The Nicholsons' father, James Nicholson (1737-1804), "continues better, gains strength—but slowly." There is a short postscript of political news: "The President has lost his beautiful daughter Mrs Eppes and is in great affliction — Demos will have a majority of 6 or 8 thousand — Langdon is elected in N.H. by a small majority —"
