This document, and the documents preceding and following (MSN/COL 2717-31 and 2717-33) relate to the case of George Brownell v. Thomas Brownell, heard by Bristol County justice of the peace Thomas Church at Little Compton on 9 February 1719/20. It is a memorandum recording a bond of recognizance entered by Brownell in the amount of £5, and a surety of £5 undertaken on Brownell's behalf by James Dyer, on condition that Brownell appear at the next sitting of the Court of General Sessions to present his appeal.
