In 1962 Rickey began working with monumental blades, forms he would continue to use in Two Lines Oblique, a towering outdoor sculpture from 1967. Here, two fifteen-foot lines situated atop a tall Y-shaped base swing delicately back and forth and sometimes, in a playful wind, circle completely around. Although works such as this were much larger than Rickey’s earlier sculptures, they remained as intricately constructed as his smaller works. from Kephart, Passages of Light and Time: George Rickey's Life in Motion (Notre Dame, 2009)
