Old City Wells, Saint Quentin: Old city water wells, with a covering cupola

Date

Circa 1910

Location

Architecture Library, Hesburgh Libraries

Old well heads (fountains with lion head spouts) clustered together with a basin and covered with a cupola. This has survived WWI, but the modern superstructure is now lighter, open ironwork, with a domed top, resembling the earlier structure. It is located in a pedestrian plaza (Place Gaspard de Coligny).
