Date
Circa 1910
Location
Architecture Library, Hesburgh Libraries
The large state theater is currently composed of two buildings, the Opernhaus (Opera House, 1905) and the Schauspielhaus (Playhouse, or theater, 1959). The Opera House was built in an eclectic Renaissance-Baroque Revivalist style with stepped gables on the entrance facade and a dome. It is sometimes listed under the art nouveau, Jugendstil styles.
